Thank you for joining the PTA!

Each year the PTA spends an average

of $400 per student.

We plan and sponsor a variety of events

throughout the year, for enrichment,

fun and fundraising. Many of these

take place beyond the school day and

involve hours of planning and

amazing parent volunteers to run.

We appreciate all of your support,

none of this would be possible without you!

SUMMARY OF annual PTA efforts & INITIATIVES:

We provide funding for all class field trip transportation averaging about $7,000 a year. We also pay for field trip programming depending on budget and teacher requests.

After-school programs (formerly known as PRES PRIDE) offering PRES students a variety of enrichment classes, allowing them to explore their specific interests. We run 8-week sessions in Fall and Spring, and a mini 5-week Winter session. Classes take place at PRES immediately after school and require a 4:20pm pick-up.

PTA sponsors coffee and breakfast for all school staff during Back-to-School Week and Teacher Appreciation Week, catered luncheons during Parent-Teacher Conferences, and home-baked holiday cookie boxes in December.

To boost morale and support all faculty, PRES staff receive a stipend

to purchase additional classroom educational and health supplies.

In 2023 we welcomed authors Super Brady, Judy England-McCarthy &

RJ Palacio. Several Assemblies including Hip-Hop Character-Building

with DJ Reggie, Kindness Quest Assembly and the Big Air BMX Show.

Our annual book fair gives students and families a chance to browse and purchase books, encouraging a love of reading. All proceeds benefit the PTA.

These fundraisers take place on alternating years.  An effort to foster

a love of fitness and team spirit, and encourage students to reach their

personal reading goals. All proceeds benefit the PTA.

PRES merch is sold via an online sale in the Fall and Spring and at various events throughout the year to raise funds and build school spirit.

Our children showcase their many talents at this annual evening

performance on stage in the PRES gym. Singing, dance routines,

musical skits, stand-up comedy, you won't want to miss it!

A great opportunity for our children to tap their inner scientist, showcase

their discoveries and learn as they explore all the other projects on display.

This grand event happens every other year (we alternate with Bedford Village Elementary), involves many tireless volunteers. Our largest fundraiser, featuring signature drinks, light bites, lots of fun with fellow parents and

a live auction (think wine tastings, theme park tix and student artwork).

Last year’s theme was Derby de Mayo!

We plan various events for kids and parents outside of school.

Outdoor movies in the Town Park, just like a drive-in! Trunk-or-Treat as

part of PR Halloweenfest in partnership with Friends of Pound Ridge.

A family afternoon of bingo, pizza and prizes and an evening for parents

to battle over coveted trivia champion bragging rights.

Ongoing efforts such as the Garden Committee, giving students

the chance to work together in the PRES community garden, and the

Library Committee organizing volunteers to help shelve books.

Reach out if you want to get involved or spearhead a new effort!

We coordinate school photo day and photo orders in the Fall. Design, order and manage sales of the yearbook in the Spring. All proceeds benefit the PTA.

Schoolwide Friday night dance with a DJ, dancers, crafts, activities

and snacks in the PRES gym.

Featuring the Harlem Wizards playing BCSD teachers and staff in an unforgettable basketball match at Fox Lane. All proceeds benefit the PTA.

We organize an annual luncheon for Pound Ridge Seniors at PRES

around Veterans Day, complete with home cooked meals by parents,

crafts and entertainment by our students.

We fund upgrades for the school facilities as needs arise. Recently we purchased new books for the library, installed the Peaceful Playground

stencils and outdoor fitness apparatuses by the lower field.
